Background

The Gastro kitchen is an international casual dining concept located inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). The ambience of the restaurant is unlike any other dining spot. The closeness to the beach and the incredible view of the Ain Dubai Ferry is spectacular.

They have some of the best outdoor seating arrangements along the JBR side by offering a wide range of delicacies to get your taste buds tempted. Moreover, the outdoor seating is also near to the beach and the swimming pool.

In this blog, I shall be sharing my iftar experience at Gastro kitchen to help you make the best decision to spend some great time with friends or family. The hotel offers valet parking service to all the guest with complimentary WiFi access.

The Gastro Kitchen Iftar Menu is a 3-course set menu priced at AED 199. However, they also offer 25% discount for Hilton Honor members.

Gastro kitchen Iftar Dining Experience

The whole experience was well planned as the iftar menu was a 3-course set menu comprising of starters, main course and desserts. The iftar menu theme mostly revolved around the Mediterranean cuisine.

For starters, a selection of cold and hot mezze was served which included Hummus, Fattoush, Tabbouleh and Baba Ganoush (aubergine) to be enjoyed with breadbasket. Whereas for hot mezze, they served us Kibbeh, Borak, Cheese Spring Roll and Manakish.

Moving on to main course, they have huge selection of meat and seafood grills. We tried the Mixed grill platter which was prepared on the outdoor live grilling station. It had two pieces of lamb chops, meat kofta’s and meat skewers accompanied with little bit of rice and grilled tomato onions. However, we were completely full by having all those dishes. So, we did not order the grilled seafood platter.   

The meat was cooked to perfection as it was absolutely delicious to enjoy with bread. The lamb chop was very soft and tender. From the cold mezze, I personally enjoyed the hummus and Fattoush with Arabic bread. All the dishes from hot mezze were delicious. Overall, taste wise the delicacies were pleasing and satisfactory.

Almost four types of juices such as Jallab, Vimto, Apricot (Qamer Al Deen) and Laban were also available. To end this wonderful iftar, we were served the dessert platter which came with five types of desserts namely Umm Ali, Mhalabiyeh, Baklava, Apricot with cream, and Lite pistachio bakhlawa. The presentation of the dessert platter was enticing, and the portion size was fair for an individual. Later on, we decided to order some chamomile tea and green tea.

Final Verdict

In conclusion, the overall iftar experience was amazing as we got to try out something different by enjoying the wonderful outdoor environment with breath-taking view of the Ain Dubai Ferry. The food was absolutely mouth-watering with wide abundance of delicacies to choose from to make your iftar memorable.
