Food Guide had an incredible opportunity to visit Joe’s Backyard for dinner by enjoying the incredible view of the Dubai skyline and festival city. The restaurant is situated on the 19th floor of Holiday Inn Dubai Festival City. Many Food Critics in Dubai claim joe’s backyard to be the most sought after American Barbeque restaurants with rooftop dining experience.
We chose the option to sit in a non-smoking area with some incredible view of business bay bridge as we arrived 7:30 PM to enjoy the wonderful dinner. The staff were very friendly for guiding us around the restaurant.

The restaurant has a very laid-back atmosphere with incredible background music to set the mood. The ambience of the restaurant is mostly inspired by the modern interior design with dull lighting mood to create that laid back atmosphere.
Joe’s Backyard Experience
From Appetizers, we decided to Choose Chicken Quesadilla and Kale Beetroot and Halloumi Salad. For Main Course, we chose Rib Eye and Grilled Salmon both of them were highly recommended by the staff.

The chicken quesadilla was cooked to perfect as it had the right texture and juiciness being accompanied with salsa sauce to add some new blend of flavors. The Kale beetroot and Halloumi salad was one of my favorites as the kale was properly seasoned with olive oil and mixed with tiny pieces of beetroot and halloumi cheese and garnished with pomegranate seed and walnut.

Rib Eye 
Grilled Salmon Joe’s Backyard
Moving on with the Main Course, the Rib-eye had a very photogenic presentation with great combination of veggie Colour served on a hot plate. It was cooked to perfection as the meat was extremely soft and tender to bite. Moreover, the combination with mashed potatoes for side was incredible.
The Grilled Salmon was beautifully arranged with broccoli and burnt lemon. It was topped with garlic and herb sauce which definitely played a big role in reducing the dryness and adding more flavors to the fish meat. However, that hint of burnt lemon was also useful to add that extra sourness with the creamy texture. Overall, both the main course dishes were well thought out by the Joe’s Backyard’s chef as there is no denying the fact that the key ingredients complimented each other pretty well.

Dessert
Finally, we chose the Banoffee pie and S’mores Magnum Ice cream for dessert. The flavor and texture of Banoffee pie was unlike any other dessert. It was prepared from filo pastry by filling it with cream, banana slices and topping it with caramelized sugar. However, the amalgamation of Banana cream with caramelized sugar was unique. Somehow, the S’mores Magnum was a typical Magnum ice cream topped with chocolate pieces and drizzled with white chocolate sauce.
Final Verdict
There is no doubt that Joe’s Backyard is one of the hotspots for people to gather for enjoying some amazing gastronomic experience by witnessing the iconic views of the Dubai skyline and Dubai Festival city. The quality and taste of the food is unrivalled. A highly recommended place to visit if you are craving some barbeque meat and drinks. They have valet parking service available for added convenience.
